Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to Open in Lake Tahoe
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is expected to include more than 500 hotel rooms and a 25,000-square-foot casino according to officials from the Las Vegas-based Warner Hospitality and Tahoe-based Park family.
Plans have been announced after the $60 million renovation of the former Horizon Casino Resort at Stateline took place earlier this year.
Shortly following the event was the announcement of the Warner Hospitality partnership with the property’s owners, the Park brothers.
The property is situated on the lake’s south shore next to the Edgewood Golf Course and was originally the Del Webb’s Sahara Tahoe, which opened in 1965.
The property was acquired by Jon and David Park earlier this year, shortly before the two brothers shut it down for redesign and renovation.
The plan signals Warner Hospitality’s first foray into the Northern Nevada market. The company owns 10 casino properties throughout Nevada, Iowa, California, Washington state, and New Mexico.
The Hard Rock brand has become a name synonymous with entertainment, featuring gaming, music venues and vacation amenities at all property locations throughout the world.
The resort’s legendary atmosphere of entertainment and nightlife will no doubt fit in well with the bustling crowd of Lake Tahoe vacationers and residents.
