Westgate Resorts buys Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

The iconic Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has been purchased by Westgate Resorts and will feature more than 3,000 rooms and timeshare villas.

Westgate founder and CEO David Siegel stated that the “Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino will set the standard for service in Las Vegas.” The property is located adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, providing visitors with easy access to facilities as well as accommodations.

While the hotel began with a humble foundation, known as the International in its founding year of 1969, the site would go on to house such stars as Elvis Presley and Liberace. Today the property boasts close to 3000 guest rooms, some of which will be converted to timeshare villas by Westgate Resorts, a 9,000 square foot casino and 200,000 square feet of meeting space.

In what Westgate are dubbing the Renaissance of Las Vegas, the developers will attempt to marry the excitement of tourism and conventions with the posh lifestyle of luxury residences on the premises. In an exciting development for Westgate, this venture is said by Siegel to be at the heart of universe when it comes to luxury destination resorts.
