EPT to Celebrate 100 Events with Europe’s Biggest Poker Festival
The European Poker Tour (EPT) has announced that it will begin Season 11 of the EPT by celebrating its 100th event with Europe’s biggest ever poker festival.The festival will be held in Barcelona where EPT and its partner the Estrellas Poker Tour will team up from August 16th-27th at the Casino Barcelona to host a festival which organizers hope will break all records for prizes and attendance.
The president of the EPT, Edgar Stuchly, said, “The EPT was born in Barcelona so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker. EPT Barcelona is one of the most popular tour stops and attracts players from all over the world for the fantastic mix of beaches, iconic architecture, party atmosphere and world class poker.”
Due to the anticipated extra attendance, the EPT has decided to increase its capacity by adding an extra 20 tables.
The EPT began in September 2004 and has since traveled to 16 countries and hosted over 180,000 payers. Over the last 9 years over €539 million has been paid out in prize money and 39 people have left events as millionaires.
