Christmas Comes to Las Vegas
It’s Christmas time and in Las Vegas this normally means a drop in the number of visitors. To combat this Las Vegas casinos have put together a set of absolutely fantastic holiday events. The Bellagio has converted its conservatory into a fabulous winter wonderland complete with a 42-foot-tall Christmas tree, a life-size candy house, a walk-through snow globe and topiary polar bears. The casino’s famous water fountains are now set to Christmas classics and tourists can enjoy being photographed with a 250-pound Grinch.
Caesars Palace is also in the holiday spirit, the Forum Shops feature “Elf Aquarists”, a set of divers in elf-style wet suits who feed the aquarium’s tropical fish. The Venetian’s “Winter in Venice” features a troop of brilliantly costumed actors who are happy to greet families and pose for photos and outside the casino is a 65-foot Christmas tree made of lights.
On Friday Britney Spears’ show “Piece of Me” will premiere at Planet Hollywood after months of anticipation but Britney has taken Christmas day off rehearsals to spend time with her family.
Next week Celine Dion will also return to Las Vegas at the Colosseum at Caesars Planet. Due to her busy schedule Dion celebrated Christmas with her family back in October and said that it taught her “that it doesn’t matter really if you are spending Christmas in July or December as long as you make things happen.”
