Matt Salsberg is leading at the WPT Paris Main Event with 65 players left as the event moves into Day Three. In total 187 players entered the event paying the €7,500 buy in to create a prize pool of €1,332,375.
The top 21 players will cash out, taking home at least €14,665 each and the winner will collect €340,000 and a seat at the WPT Champions Event at the Borgata in April.
Salsberg is leading with an impressive 212,600 chips thanks to a six-bet jam against Ekrem Sanioglu after which Salsberg’s Aces beat Sanioglu’s Ace-Queen. Salsberg is followed by Hicham Hilmi with 200,700 chips.
However, there are a number of other strong contenders left in the game including a number of big names who just cashed at the WSOPE last week. Players include David Peters, Joni Joukimainen, Timothy Adams, Jason Koon and Shannon Shorr.
As always though there were some surprise exits in Day 2 including Adrian Mateos who had just won the WSOPE Main Event for €1,000,000 and his first gold bracelet. The final table is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, so there is sure to be some tough competition over the next two days.
