Illinois’ Rivers Casino Continues to Dominate State Casinos
The Rivers Casino based in Des Plaines seems to be going from strength to strength and maintaining its position as the state’s most lucrative casino. Its income for August this year was almost double that of August last year.
Furthermore, the casino also nearly doubled the gross revenues generated by Joliet’s Harrahs Casino in the month of August.
According to the August 2013 Illinois Gaming Board report, Rivers generated adjusted gross revenues of $36,027,497 last month while admissions were 325,472.
In contrast Joliet Harrahs Casino generated $18,998,135 million last month and had 150,361 visitors. The nearby Elgin-Grand Victoria Casino generated $17,090,676 in revenue with 140,580 visitors.
The performance of Rivers casino this August compared to a year ago is substantial when $26.4 million in adjusted gross receipts were generated.
Rivers is easily the top performing casino in Illinois, so far this year it has generated $280,828,572 in gross receipts. This is leagues ahead of its nearest competitor, Joliet Harrahs, which has generated $138.6 million in receipts.
