Margaritaville Opens in Atlantic City
Margaritaville, the $35 million restaurant, bar and gambling complex, was opened last week in Atlantic City.
At the opening Governor Chris Christie said, “This place is an example of the fun and entertainment that Atlantic City can be all about. New Jersey is back, we’re ready for summer, and there’s nothing that will keep this state down if we all work together.”
It is hoped that the new complex will draw custom back to the Resorts casino which has been struggling to compete with newer, bigger casinos in Atlantic City and the neighbouring states.
The opening of the Jimmy Buffett themed wasn’t attended by Buffett but he said that fans will love the new location.
“Atlantic City has always historically been a great beach town and needless to say I kind of thrive in those kinds of communities.”
The complex includes a Margaritaville restaurant, the Landshark Bar & Grill, Margaritaville-themed casino space, the Five O’Clock Somewhere Bar, a retail store and a coffee shop. The casino will include twelve Margaritaville-themed table games and 160 slot machines. It also features an indoor lighthouse, palm trees and tropical-blue skies and clouds decorating the ceilings.
