Golden Nugget Atlantic City Praised After Remodelling
Two years ago Landry’s Inc. bought the Trump Marina for $38 million as analysts predicted the gaming market’s demise.
However, Landry’s spent $150 million renovating the 740-room hotel-casino which is now called the Golden Nugget Atlantic City and it has been praised by the city, tourism leaders and competing casinos.
The president of Atlantic City Alliance, Elizabeth Cartmell, said “The pool level is spectacular. They did a tremendous job on the property. They got a real bang for their money.”
Landry’s re-modelled the 80,000 square foot casino and hotel and added retail space and opened a number of top restaurants.
The Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Golden Nugget, Amy Chasey, said that the casino has retained Trump Marina’s customer database and kept in touch with customers over the 11 months that remodelling took place.
Chasey said, “Because there was a lot of construction, we were more aggressive with our marketing messages. We wanted the customers to know that every time they came, they would see something new. On Day One, we had customers trade out their Trump players card for our 24 Carat Club card. Those efforts paid off.”
