New Casino Day Cruises for Port of Palm Beach
A new day cruise operator is set to fill the vacancy which was left when Black Diamond Casino Cruises stopped operating from the Port of Palm Beach in February.
Black Diamond Casino’s lease ended in March and now port officials have approved a new agreement with Island Breeze International which will be effective from May 1st.
Port spokeswoman Julie Houston Trieste described it as “wonderful news”.
Island Breeze International is expected to start day cruise operations by August 1st. The company is planning on contracting the Black Diamond ship and make interior renovations and change the layout and name before launching.
According to Triest the remodelling will include new carpets and slot machines as well as moving the dining room to the first floor.
Island Breeze has signed a 10-year lease which includes office space and a guarantee of 125,000 passengers per year.
The port’s senior director of business development, Jarra Kaczwara, said that the company “has made a commitment to put a substantial amount of marketing dollars in this effort, which is nice to hear.” Kaczwara thought that insufficient advertising and marketing had been a problem for Black Diamond Casino. said Kaczwara, noting that insufficient advertising and marketing had been issue for Black Diamond Casino.
