Caesars Interactive Applies for New Jersey Online License
Caesars Interactive Entertainment has applied for a New Jersey online gambling license and it is expected that they will be granted one without encountering any resistance.
Caesars operates four casinos in Atlantic City so it is no surprise that they have applied for a license. The four casinos, Bally’s, Harrah’s Resort, the Showboat and Caesars are all part of the Atlantic City boardwalk and make up a third of the state’s casinos.
Caesars Interactive is the online department of Caesars Entertainment. At present it operates online poker and casino games in the UK market and hopes to bring the same games to New Jersey.
The online department is led by Mitch Garber. Garber is the previous head of Partygaming and has also worked with Neteller which now provide online payment processing functions to Caesars.
Caesars is based in Nevada and has been working hard to become the first company to launch online poker in the state. Already its website, WSOP.com, is accepting player signups to begin beta testing on its software. It is expected that a real-money launch will happen soon but an exact date has not yet been announced.
