Britney Spears to Perform in Vegas
It has been announced by Caesars Entertainment Corp. that they are in in talks with pop star Britney Spears regarding a long-term contract for her to headline a show at a Las Vegas resort.
In a statement the company said, “We can now confirm the company is actively engaged in discussions with Britney Spears’ representatives regarding a potential headlining residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino”.
So far Spears’ representatives haven’t offered comment of their own.
Caesars Entertainment owns a number of casinos and resorts such as Planet Hollywood and the company has a history of hiring some of the world’s most popular performers for residencies at various Las Vegas sites.
Singer Celine Dion has a three-year deal with Caesars Palace which is reportedly worth $100 million while British singer Elton John has a long term commitment to perform at The Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
In the past singers such as Cher and Bette Midler had similar deals with Caesars Entertainment.
Britney Spears is one of the biggest pop figures of the past two decades. At present she is attempting a comeback after a difficult few years which saw her lose custody of her children, attend rehab and shave her hair.
