Record Breaking Lottery Jackpot for West Australia

West Australians are currently obsessed by the record $100 million jackpot up for grabs in this week’s Oz Lotto draw.

West Australians are currently obsessed by the record $100 million jackpot up for grabs in this week’s Oz Lotto draw.

This is the highest Lotto prize in Australian history and unsurprisingly it is causing a huge amount of excitement and anticipation right across the state.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said that retailers have “been reporting an extremely busy few days” and expects it to become even busier.

She went on to say that they are expecting “1.4 million tickets to be sold in WA for the draw and during peak times, between 4pm and 5pm, we estimate about 1500 tickets to be churning out of Lotterywest terminals every minute.”

If one single player hits the jackpot then it will go down in history as the largest Lotto prize ever won in the country. At present the record is $58.7 million and was won by a Victorian syndicate in 2008.

However, it is not just the gamblers who may benefit from this record breaking jackpot.

Over the past nine weeks of ticket sales, Lotterywest has raised a staggering $25 million which will go to support local causes in the WA community.
