Bodog Removes European Access to Poker Rooms
Bodog’s UK website has recently closed its doors and players in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe can no longer access Bodog’s poker room via the UK website.
Furthermore, Bodog has also temporarily closed its UK casino website and blocked new signups; however, this will reopen after it has been overhauled. However, Bodog’s sites in America, Canada and Asia are still operating as usual.
The move was unexpected as BodogEU has recently closed and redirected all its players to Bodog.co.uk. It has also recently withdrawn from 20 other countries across Europe and the Middle East.
BodogUK will not be including poker in the site’s re-launch; instead it will be focusing on live dealer games such as baccarat.
Players who wish to leave the site will be able to cash out with all of their money.
Bodog has said that it is intending to focus on the Asian expat market.
Managing director Robert Gustafsson said that there are at least 100,000 Chinese living outside of China “and if you then include Thai, Malay and Vietnamese expats you have more than just a niche market but one that has been ignored by other operators despite being far and away the largest consumer group of casino games on the planet.”
