Tony Bennett Performs in Atlantic City
Tony Bennett, a true icon of music, put on a wonderful show at the Event Centre at Borgata Casino, Hotel and Spa at the end of last month.
Aged 86, Bennett attracted a multi-generational audience and had them all on their feet.
He received more than five standing ovations throughout his hour long performance and showed off his talent with a range of songs.
The show opened with his daughter Antonia Bennett performing six songs. Antonia returned to the stage for a duet with her father later on.
Bennett senior performed a total of 21 songs and two encores, Fly me to the Moon and When You’re Smiling, which appropriately left the whole room smiling.
Bennett is best known as a singer of pop music and standard show tunes, but he also sings some country music.
Bennett performed Cold, Cold Heart and commented that after he recorded the song it rose to the top of the charts and he then got a call from the song writer Hank Williams asking, “Why did you ruin my song?”
Overall it was a spectacular evening full of wonderful music which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.
