Playtech Enters Italian Online Gaming Market

Playtech has been enjoying a triumphant 2011 after making significant headway in the Italian market. The internationally acclaimed software provider announced that the organisation has secured a number of high profile contracts with Italian partners – bringing the company’s revered technology to consumers throughout Europe. TNT, SNAI, Sisal and Buongiorno represent just a handful of brands who will be taking advantage of Playtech’s services which look set to revolutionize the online gaming experience for Italian players. The move arrives as other UK firms, including the Playtech powered William Hill, launch a range of online bingo, sports betting and poker rooms in the country.

The internationally revered software provider is poised to take the Italian online gaming market by storm this 2011.

The software developer, which first entered the Italian market back in 2008, will now become first provider to complete the Collaudo testing process. The system, which was originally established by the Italian gambling jurisdiction, Autonoma Dei Monopoli Di Stato (AAMS), has paved the way for the company to offer access to cash game online poker titles via its iPoker.it network.

Commenting on the developments, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said that the Italian sector was a “major constituent of the European regulated environment”. He went on to reveal that the group was excited to “strengthen its position” with the addition of a new games portfolio and cash table poker. A statement issued on behalf of the organisation noted that the software would feature all the “leading gaming content” alongside a comprehensive “suite of operational tools”. “The casino equips operators with a competitive and attractive offering for this new market”, concluded the statement. Italian gamers will no doubt be keen to test out Playtech’s celebrated titles for themselves in the weeks ahead.
