Scandinavia’s Online Casino Poker Show
The decision to launch popular poker series ‘Poker Night Live’ on Scandinavian television is expected to generate thousands of new fans for online casino firm Poker Zone. Over six million homes will have access to the online casino show, which has proved to be the most successful poker show in the UK and the U.S. Under the terms of the agreement signed by Viasat and online casino firm Poker Zone, the show will be screened every night at 11pm on Viasat’s television network.
“Poker Night Live” has steadily grown in popularity since it was first launched in April. A new multi-table tournament permits over 100 online casino fans to play at the same time, while single table tournaments and a range of cash games keep audiences coming back for more. An estimated 200,000 dedicated online casino fans watch the show each week, encouraging the online casino poker firm to develop local versions of the show for the Canadian, European and Scandinavian markets.
Sam Orams, the creative director for the Scandinavian version of the online casino show, has commented that local presenters will be used in order to give the program a home-grown atmosphere that poker fans appreciate. Poker Zone’s managing director, Jim Sibcy, has referred to the online casino operator’s new business interests in Scandinavia as “an obvious progression” and anticipates similar levels of success to those in the U.S. and the UK.
