Christchurch Offers New Look Online Casino

Christchurch Casino has expanded its online casino services by introducing a second online casino and new services offering skill-based betting, online casino poker and British Bingo games. The group’s newest online casino provides 80 virtual casino games and is designed to emulate the ‘look and feel’ of a real live casino. The New Zealand based online casino firm targets predominantly overseas players due to the ban on online gambling under the New Zealand Gambling Act.

Under the Act, only traditional betting agencies such as the TAB and New Zealand Lotteries are entitled to offer gambling services over the internet or via telephone. To avoid operating outside the legislation, Christchurch Casino provides its online casino services through a subsidiary group called Kiwi Gaming.

Stephen Lyttleton, acting chief executive at Christchurch Casino, claims that the online casino firm screens for New Zealand-based gamblers and refuses registrations from those with mailing addresses, email addresses or credit cards that originate in the country. However New Zealand-based online casino fans are keeping a close eye on Britain’s attitude toward online gaming and will be hoping their own government decides to follow the UK’s lead.
