The Phenomenal Rise of the Online Casino Industry

What in the world is it with online casino gambling? It seems like just yesterday sometimes that the world wide web itself was a clunky, slow, unlikely platform for gambling over phone lines. Now, online casino gambling is not limited to those who connect to the web over a phone line. In fact, since most people don’t use phone lines or dial-up modems in quite a few countries, gambling at an online casino is an option open to more and more people than ever. And to think, when the web first started its inventors probably had little notion of it becoming the home of a multi-billion dollar industry that has taken virtually the entire world by storm whether many in that world appreciate it or gamble online or not.

To think about online casino gambling now is to think about an industry that has more money than most major small businesses combined. To think about online casino companies is to think of companies which have gone public on the London Stock Exchange, which hold massive poker tournaments and charity events for U.S. troops serving in the Middle East, and which have millions of websites dedicated in one way or another to online casinos or online gambling that are themselves nothing more than information and news websites about the online casino industry.

Few probably could have imagined the levels of success that online casino companies have achieved in such a short amount of time, though those that could imagine such success are the ones who are laughing at the critics and with the other winners each day as they walk to the bank or check their Swiss bank accounts. Have no doubts about the success of the online casino industry. If you have doubts about the future, so be it. But right now, online casino companies are continuing a rise which began long ago and while there may be speed bumps on the way, while that industry’s rise may stop or reverse…why be so pessimistic?
