The Casino World and Party Poker

In the world of online gambling, there is probably no super-power like there is in the real world in the form of the United States. Still, if any company can claim to be the biggest and most popular of all, you’d have to do a lot of work to find a more popular online casino company than Party Poker. Party Poker is the 800-lb. gorilla of the online casino world, it is the United States of online gambling, and many other online casinos are jealous of Party Poker’s success and get angry even when Party Poker devalues them (even more so when such companies over-value themselves to appear as popular as Party Poker but don’t deserve the numbers).

But Party Poker is not the only online casino to achieve success in a competitive world like online gambling’s, but it has managed to take a single game and turn it into a cash cow that is hard to beat. There are a lot of pretenders to the online casino king throne, touting themselves as “the best on the web” or “the newest and greatest online casino around” but everyone knows that if there is a standard for online casino success to be judged against, it is against Party Poker’s standard – and Party Poker’s success.

As the online casino industry barges head-strong into 2006, expect more online gambling companies to attempt to launch IPOs, like Party Poker did. Expect more online casino businesses to make a transition to a poker-centric platform – just like Party Poker. And as online bingo makes inroads in the UK, look for an online casino company or two to try and be the next Party Gaming – which is the parent company of Party Poker – which in addition to poker also hosts Party Bingo. It is set to be a possibly interesting year for the online casino industry, and Party Poker will have to keep on its toes to stay ahead…and those other companies on their toes to try and catch up.
