Party Poker Launches “Restore the Shore” Online Tournament Series
Party Poker has announced an online tournament series to help raise money for the towns still in need of assistance recovering from Superstorm Sandy. Together with Hometown Heroes, an organization which helps those in crisis, the New Jersey Party Poker room is going to be hosting the series known as “Restore the Shore”.The series will be made up of six tournaments held over the course of next year with the first taking place on January 4th.
Half of each entry fee will be donated to one of six afflicted towns, Seaside Heights, Ortley Beach, Brick, Toms River, Ocean Gate and Lavallette.
Each tournament costs $20 to enter and $10 of the fee will go straight to Hometown Heroes. Furthermore, Party Poker has said that it will match each $10 entry-fee donation in order to double the funds going to Hometown Heroes.
The Founder and President of Hometown Heroes, Michael J. Schwartz, said “Although it’s more than a year after the storm, the need is still so great for people in our community, dealing with the effects of Superstorm Sandy. We still have a long road ahead of us and I’m so glad that NJ.partypoker.com has stepped up to help continue those efforts for those who need it most.”
