Wynn has Applied for New Jersey Online Gambling License

Last week it was revealed that Wynn Interactive LLC, a subsidiary of Wynn Resorts Ltd, is among the casino operators to apply for an online gaming license in the state of New Jersey.

Wynn has Applied for New Jersey Online Gambling License

Wynn Interactive LLC is amongst the companies which have applied to operate online gambling in New Jersey.

It is slightly unexpected move as Steve Wynn, the company’s CEO, has in the past referred to Atlantic City as “the enemy” and he does not have any casino properties in Atlantic City. However, this looks as though it could be the first move towards Wynn partnering with a Casino there and it means that the company could be looking to purchase the struggling Atlantic City casino Revel.

If Wynn’s license is approved it would be the first time the company has operated in Atlantic City since 1987, the company used to won the Golden Nugget casino but sold it for $440 million.

Wynn also has plans to open two more casinos in the Boston and Philadelphia areas. At present both are awaiting approval from their respective gaming commissions and it looks as if there will be no problems with the applications.

Should Wynn be approved the New Jersey license, then it gives the opportunity for a merger of player pools with Wynn’s Las Vegas property. This could create a Wynn mega-site and pave the way for the company to become a leader in the American online gambling market.
