The Delaware state lottery has announced it has chosen the joint bid from 888, Scientific Games Corporation and Williams Interactive to run the state’s online gambling

The initial deal is for five years and final negotiations are yet to be completed. Delaware passed legislation last June to allow for wide-ranging intrastate online gambling.

The laws allow for poker, slots, bingo and video lottery games. Delaware Lottery will be the sole regulator of real-money internet gaming and the plan is to launch games by September of this year.

In March the state accepted applications from 14 companies including PokerStars, Amaya Gaming and International Game Technology.

888 filed its application after it had secured the partnership with the other two firms. The joint venture had an advantage over the other applicants as Scientific Games already provides technology for the state’s lottery.

In a press release 888 said, “This offering combines 888’s decade-long experience at the forefront of the online gaming industry with Scientific Games’ proven ability to provide added value, turnkey solutions to government-sponsored and commercial gaming operators, and Williams Interactive’s premium iGaming products and services.”
