New Jersey Hiring Online Gambling Consultant
New Jersey is hiring an expert consultant in the coming weeks in order to make sure that gambling regulation is introduced as soon as possible.
The Division of Gaming Enforcement spokeswoman, Lisa Spengler, said, “Ever since Governor Christie signed the Internet gaming bill into law on February 7, 2013, the Division has been focused on drafting and implementing regulations, adding the necessary employee expertise to appropriately vet Internet gaming applications, and posting for a specialized consultant to help guide the Division in responsibly implementing Internet gaming in New Jersey.” In the last two months the Division has posted for 25 more employees and is currently interviewing for a specialised consultant.
Furthermore, a complete set of regulations have been drafted and it is expected that they will be published in the coming weeks.
The Division of Gaming Enforcement has said that while it did extensive research into how to draft internet gaming rules, it wishes to hire an expert to ensure that nothing has been missed and the monitor the casino industry’s response to the regulations. The consultant is necessary to prepare the division to address “the possible reactions of both the Internet gaming industry and gaming regulators from other jurisdictions.”
