AP Claims that Legal Sports Betting in New Jersey is a Definite
For the past few years Online Casino Archives has been keeping a close watch on the progress of the fight to legalise sports betting in New Jersey.
However, until recently when the Associated Press released an article on it, the issue was generally ignored by the main stream media.
Tim Dahlberg has written an article arguing that the legalisation of sports betting is almost a definite thing.
The major sports leagues are contesting the legalisation saying that increases the chance of corruption within sports.
Dahlberg points out that there is already a huge illegal betting market and so far this has not caused “a whiff of scandal, not a reason to suspect anything might be amiss.”
Dahlberg says that the leagues view gambling as “as a threat cooked up in a back room somewhere by shady criminals just waiting for the chance to blackmail a troubled quarterback and fix the outcome of games.”
He then points out that in the UK, where sports betting is extremely common, there were no problems throughout the Olympics nor are there any problems with betting on the NFL match which takes place in London every year.
Let’s hope that Dahlberg is proven write for the sake of sports and gambling fans everywhere.
