William Hill Views Obama As Favourite
With less than two weeks to go until the US presidential elections, William Hill has updated its odds and made Obama favourite to win.
William Hill improved Obama’s odds from 4-9 to 2-5 making him a clear favourite to beat Romney and serve a second term.
Following the final debate, Romney’s odds have moved from 7-4 to 15-8.
Graham Sharpe, a William Hill spokesman, said that the “final debate does not seem to have given either man any huge boost”. However, he said that as Obama avoided a “clear defeat, he appears now to be in pole position for the race to the White House,”
Most bookies seem to have reached the same conclusion as William Hill.
His odds range from 11/25 at WBX to 2/5 at a number of bookies including Sky Bet, Betfred and Paddy Power.
Romney’s odds are slightly more varied; his bet odds are 15/8 at BetVictor and YouWin, his worst are 11/5 at SportingBet and Ladbrokes. It seems that for now, the bookies are fairly sure of an Obama victory.
However, Americans hoping to take advantage of William Hill’s odds and place a bet are facing a small problem. William Hill has not sought regulatory approval to post odds and take best in Nevada.
