Ohio Poll Shows Slight Lead for Obama
In the key state of Ohio Obama is still leading Romney but the margin is steadily narrowing.
According to a poll released this week by Quinnipiac University and CBS News Obama still hold a 5 pint lead amongst voters, half the lead he ad in September.
The poll is actually better news for Obama than other recent polls, five other polls taken recently ranged in their findings from Romney having a 3 point lead to the two candidates tying.
A possible explanation for this is the difference in methodology; the CBS poll used cell phones while the others, except for a Fox poll, all used land lines. Voters who are reached by cell phone tend to be younger and more likely to vote for the Democrats.
With the election coming closer there are also some excellent betting markets available. For instance there are odds of 8/15 that the Democrats will take Iowa vs. the Republicans 13/8.
Gamblers can also bet on Obama’s Electoral College Votes, Paddy Power has the same odds of 5/6 for Under 270 and Over 270.
It’s even possible to bet on how many states Romney will win from Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. The best odds of 5/1 are on him winning all 7!
