Obama Becomes Bookies Favourite Following Third Debate
The final debate of the US Presidential Race has taken place.
Most commentators are saying that Obama won the debate and at present the betting odds are also placing him in the lead.
The best odds on Mitt Romney to win the election are 7/4 from both Betfair and WBX. However, Obama has odds of 8/15 making him clear favourite to win.
In the debate the two candidates clashed over foreign policy. Obama continually argued that Romney has lacked the consistency and clarity of vision needed to lead the country.
Romney countered arguing that Obama has been weak, ineffective and made America look bad as events in the Middle East have grown more troublesome.
In fact it was the President’s handling of the Middle East uprisings, Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Obama’s treatment of Israel where the two candidates most differed. However, there was some common ground over policies that are currently being pursued.
Now that the debates are over the two candidates will following intensive campaign trails until Election Day. They will be focusing on a handful of states where they will try and win over undecided voters and trying to encourage their voters to turn out on polling day.
