Betting Opens on 2016 US Elections
Even though the next US elections are next month, there are already betting markets open on the 2016 elections.
At Ladbrokes, with odds of 9/2, they think that Mitt Romney will win in 2016 even if he doesn’t this year. Romney is followed by Hillary Clinton (5/1) and Paul Ryan (10/1).
Ladbrokes is also accepting bets on who the next Democrat candidate will be, here Hillary Clinton is the favourite (3/1) followed by Joe Biden at 8/1.
It seems very plausible that Hillary Clinton took the job of Secretary of State as part of her play to run for president in 2016.
The position of Secretary of State is rarely held for longer than one term and is a non-political position which allowed her to focus on formulating US foreign policy.
She now has excellent foreign policy credentials thanks to her time as a Senator and First Lady.
Hillary now has four years to start laying the groundwork for her presidential bid. She will be 68 years old in 2016; however, this is not an issue as long as no health issues affect her in the next few years.
With so much in Hillary’s favour, it may well be worthwhile taking advantage of Ladbroke’s generous odds.
