Gambling Fans Support Pennsylvania Lottery
In a move widely seen by gambling industry analysts as an encouraging sign of things to come, the Pennsylvania State Lottery is offering five gambling fans the chance to attend this year’s World Series of Poker. The state lottery draw, which will be held on April 10, has $100,000 U.S. dollars up for grabs, along with five chances to win the lottery’s World Series of Poker gambling prize. The one stipulation gambling fans must adhere to is that entries must have been received by April 7.
Each prize is worth $20,000 dollars. In addition to the $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker, the lottery’s lucky gambling winners will also receive round trip air tickets, $1000 spending money and six nights in an exclusive five star hotel. For those winners who are not as enamored with poker as other gambling fans, the state lottery offers the chance to cash in the prize. Pennsylvania state law requires any gambling fan under the age of 21 to do so.
The decision to raffle off seats to arguably the world’s most prestigious gambling event is widely interpreted as a sign of goodwill toward the gambling industry. Pennsylvania state authorities are currently reviewing proposals that would open the state up for slot machine gambling, and further reviews on existing gaming legislation are planned for throughout the year.
