Apple Tightens Gambling Apps Guidelines

In order to ensure legality, fairness and user privacy, Apple has tightened its guidelines for gambling apps.

According to the new guidelines, apps that provide real-money gaming, such as sports betting, poker, casino games and horse racing, must have the necessary licensing and permissions in the locations where the app is used. Furthermore, the app must be restricted to those locations and be free on the App store.

Apps can ask for a date of birth only for the purpose of complying with applicable children’s privacy statutes. Apps which have the ability to collect, transmit or share personal information from a minor must comply with the applicable children’s privacy statues.

Thanks to the new measures, users of iOS can be sure that the gambling apps they use are 100% legally compliant and have high standards of privacy as well as responsible and fair gaming.

There is a steady stream of legally compliant apps being released, most recently All Slots Mobile Casino was launched on the UK App Store and Ladbrokes has launched new Blackjack and Roulette apps.
