Dead On Arrival 2 Using iPi Motion Capture for Realistic Zombies
Dead On Arrival 2, the latest instalment in the popular mobile game, is due to be released late next month. In order to quickly incorporate a large amount of zombie animations, iPi Motion Capture, the markerless motion capture software solution, was used in order to streamline the character animation development.
Paul Olsen, the Director/Studio Head said that “iPi Motion Capture was used extensively in the development of all the characters within the game.
Using the technology saved us countless weeks of character animation production and gave us stunning results that looked triple A in a fraction of the time it would take to do the work manually with highly-skilled animators.”
The use of iPi Motion Capture will result in even more impressive animations than the game’s predecessor and has allowed the team of developers to include a huge range of animated movements.
Michael Nikonov, iPi Soft’s Founder and Chief Technology Architect, said, “We’re proud of the fact that so many content developers are incorporating our markerless motion capture technology into their workflows, and finding it a cost-effective option to create more immersive playing experiences for gamers everywhere.”
