Google to Announce Google Glass Preview Users
The hype is building around Google Glass and now the company has selected its first group of preview users. The lucky few were selected from a group of people who had pitched Google on how they’d use the glasses if given an early look.
Google received applications from around the world via Twitter and Google+ from people who wanted an early look at the glasses.
A recent team announcement on Google+ said “Over the next few days we’ll be sending out invitations to our Explorer Program through Google+ and Twitter. So, keep a lookout for tweets and G+ posts from @projectglass and +Project Glass to see if you’ve been invited.”
The feedback from the preview users will be used to fine tune the product before it is released to the rest of the world, possibly before the end of this year.
Of course Google Glass has resulted in a couple of betting markets. For instance, Paddy Power is offering odds of 12/1 that Ashton Kutcher will wear Google Glass at the premier of Jobs; they are also offering odds of 3/1 that Google will launch a web connected wristwatch sometime this year.
