Mobile Gaming Market Continues to Grow
It seems that the global mobile gaming market is set to keep growing.
According to a report from analysts Transparency Market Research, the global gaming market is set to be worth $117.9 billion by 2015 with most of the growth coming from the mobile sector.
According to market analysts IDC a total of 122.3 million new tablets were sold last year and AT&T say that it sold a record number of smartphones in the final quarter of 2012.
It was announced last week by global investment firm Digi-Capital that downloadable, free-to-play games will delivering up to 55% of mobile and tablet app revenue and 93% of mobile and tablet app downloads by 2016.
At present many companies are working hard to capitalise on these trends.
For instance, Novalon Games, an gaming developer which was founded by the joint venture of OBJE and Source Street, has just released a preview of its new game Phantasmic which is due to be released for Apple devices. It is a free to play game and Novalon are aiming to release it as well as one other game later on this year.
