Mobile Marketing of the Future
Over the past year many businesses have tried to produce their own mobile apps, a number of these apps are still under development and way over budget.
As a result it is expected that marketers, rather than technology teams, will be creating mobile apps next year.
Businesses are beginning to recognise that they need to develop engaging mobile experiences for their customers.
As apps continue to increase in popularity, many believe that they will become the centrepiece of marketing strategy.
It is predicted that most new apps will be produced in HTML5. This is because it allows developers to create a universal app which can be used on any device and updates can be made without users having to download the app.
It is also thought that the use of mobile coupons will vastly increase in 2013. Digital coupons are already extremely popular with millions of them redeemed each week.
It won’t be surprising to see retail stores adopting mobile coupons soon. An added bonus is that they provide marketers with complete, end-to-end control and insights by way of point-of-sale integration.
Finally it is expected that geotargeting mobile devices will become a common strategy. It will allow marketers to push special offers as a customer passes their stores.
