Sports Betting Rules Mobile Gambling
Is mobile sports betting killing the casino star?
According to a recent Ofcom Communications Market Report, mobile sports betting is by far the star of mobile gambling.
The report claims that mobile sports betting accounts for 76% of all mobile gambling.
That leaves only 24% for mobile casino and other forms of betting. 40% of UK adults now own a smartphone – up an amazing 13% from 27% last year.
Imagine what will happen in a year or more – when 50-70% of UK adults will own a smartphone. Mobile gambling – sports or casino – is still in its infancy.
Mobile casino gambling is doing just fine on its own.
In the 4th quarter of 2010, mobile casinos made up 9.8% of the interactive casino market and .6% of the total (including land-based casinos) world market.
Mobile casinos are expected to rise to 3% of the total global casino market in 2013. Every tenth of a percent is a lot of money when it comes to gambling.
In the US, 45% of adults own a smartphone and in the EU the number is similar – 44% of EU citizens now own a smartphone.
One thing is certain – owning a smartphone makes it very easy for a person to place sports bets or spin a slot game.
