Google Mocks Apple in New Ad
Google is making use of the Motorola smartphone brand to make fun of the on-going Apple Maps farce.
They have released a new advert for the Motorola Droid Razr M which shows the phone in comparison to the iPhone 5. In particular the advert shows the Android phone running Google Maps and the iPhone running the new Apple Maps application.
The Motorola phone is seen showing a detailed satellite image of a street in busy downtown Manhattan while the iPhone is displaying the same street but in what looks like an almost barren stretch of road.
The ad’s caption is “The real world that’s fit for your hands” and underneath the iPhone 5 is the word ‘#iLost’.
The advert was released late on Friday while the problems with Apple Maps were overshadowing the iPhone 5 launch day.
Since its release Motorola has continue to use the #iLost hashtag in its tweets.
Apple decided to stop using Google Maps and replace it with its own application for iOS 6. Since its release it has asked its customers for patience while it improves the app with the addition of user data. At present there is no Google Maps application for iOS but users can still access it from their web browsers.
