Apple Releases iOS 6
Along with the iPhone 5, Apple has released a new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 6.
The new iOS 6 brings new features, bug fixes and speed enhancements for owners of Apple devices.
The new operating system has mainly been in the news for the Maps application. Apple has produced its own application, replacing Google maps, and so far it has proven to be riddled with errors such as missing locations and the incorrect placement of landmarks.
However, there are some nice new features, such as Passbook. This is an app which hols user coupons, loyalty cards and tickets.
It works with other apps to store digital passes such as cinema tickets. You can also use it with store loyalty cards and simply scan your phone to pay in store.
Apple has also upgraded a number of its existing apps. For instance, the Mail app now allows users to embed media directly into the app.
The clock app is now available on the iPad and it has been redesigned and comes with new viewing options.
There is also better integration with iCloud, in particular with Photo Stream. Users can now share a cloud stream of photos with a group of other users.
