Samsung Galaxy SIII Enjoys Massive Success

Samsung’s Galaxy SIII is still relatively new to the market but it is enjoying huge success.

Samsung’s Galaxy SIII is still relatively new to the market but it is enjoying huge success.

Despite being in the middle of the massive lawsuit between Samsung and Apple, the device has been flying of the shelves since it debuted in May.

Earlier this week Samsung announced that they have now sold 20 million units less than two months since the 10 million unit milestone was reached in July.

The Galaxy SIII have sold twice as fast as the SII and six times faster than the original Galaxy S. Samsung released this news immediately after Nokia unveiled its new Lumia devices, the Lumia 920 and 820.

Both the new Nokia phones are due to launch later this year and run on Windows 8. While the Lumia phones are reasonably successful, it cannot be compared to the success of Samsung’s Galaxy range.

The Galaxy SIII features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 display, a quad-core Exynos processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera.

The device runs on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top, it also features new gesture functions to improve navigation.

Given the phone’s popularity, Samsung will be expecting to hit the 20 million mark very soon.
