Big Fish Games Launches Real Money Gambling App
Big Fish Games is preparing to releases its real money casino app for iPad and iPhone in the UK.
The app is a re-working of the popular Card Ace: Casino app and it will include roulette, blackjack, video poker and slots.
The app became possible thanks to the work of Betable, the company which enables developers to quickly integrate a licensed payment system into their apps.
As well as being released for iOS, it will also be available for Android devices as well as on Facebook.
The release follows in the footsteps of Facebook’s release of the real money Bingo & Slots Frenzy last month, the first Facebook game to allow real money gambling.
Financial results from BetFair show that mobile gambling is thriving in the UK.
In the six month period ending October 2011 over £800 million was traded through their mobile service which resulted in £9.1 revenue. Real money mobile gambling accounted for 7.3% of BetFair’s revenue a rise of 96% year on year.
Developers looking to move into real money mobile gambling are finding that the UK is an excellent test ground.
Thanks to more relaxed gambling laws they have space to experiment and look for new revenue streams.
