UK Newspaper Launches Online Casino Technology
The Guardian has become the first major UK paper to add the provision of online casinos games and games of skill to its portfolio. Several online casino games were added to the media group’s website this week and are being supported by technology firm Game Account. Guardian players will have access to ten classic real-money casino games and tournaments through the Game Account and will join online casino fans from over 130 countries worldwide.
The online casino technology provider will enable Guardian players to try classic multiplayer games of skill such as gin rummy and backgammon, along with online casino games blackjack and mah jong. The network will also support tournaments where players will be able to view their opponents’ moves in real-time. Chat and email facilities will also be available. The Guardian’s Annie Wilson has referred to the media group’s decision to join the Game Account network as “very exciting” and says that its selection of online casino technology games and games of skill offer readers a competitive and engaging gaming alternative.
With its decision to join the network, the Guardian becomes the contemporary of popular online casino and gaming firms such as Paddy Power, Sporting Bet and Sky Bet – all of which use the Game Account network technology. Several other British media firms are said to be interested in providing similar online casino services on their websites.
