The origin of DQE, a Swedish software developer powering one of the latest online casino groups to join the competitive online casino poker industry, is creating mystery and speculation amongst industry analysts. The Costa Rican based online casino firm is powered by a firm technology whose parent company is based in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, proving that despite the U.S. government’s prohibition on internet gaming, current legislation is easy to operate around.
Arctic Star had previously announced that its new online casino site was to be powered by Swedish online casino software gaming firms DQE AB and 3D Internet Games. However, research conducted on DQE has revealed that its parent company is none other than U.S. utilities company Duquesne Light Company. A statement for Duquesne refers to the firm as a “leader in the transmission and distribution of electric energy to more than half a million customers in southwestern Pennsylvania.” However, U.S. casino players will be overlooked by the online casino firm’s technology, which has stated that it will target mostly casino fans from northern Sweden.
DQE is relatively new to the online casino industry world but has recently developed and sold blackjack and poker technology to online casino site Vegas 007. Its deal with Arctic Star will no doubt bring the software firm valuable publicity, albeit not entirely for its range of gaming products.
