The Top Ten Hottest Footballers’ WAGs

A huge amount of attention is given to football players’ on pitch performances but what about their home lives? It is no surprise that some of the fittest men on the planet should have some of the most beautiful wives and girlfriends (WAGS) and they also come under a great deal of scrutiny.
The terms WAGs was first used in the 2006 World cup in Germany when all eyes were on the likes of Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney and Abbey Crouch. However, that was twelve years ago and now there is a whole new generation of WAGs. Here is our rundown of the current hottest WAGs.
- Sergio Ramos’ Partner – Pilar Rubio
The popular Spanish reporter and television presenter Pilar Rubio has been with Sergio Ramos since 2012. She rose to fame presenting the television show Operacion Triunfo for three years and has since featured in a number of films and television series. Together with Ramos she has two sons, one born in 2014 and the other in 2015. Ramos himself emerged from Sevilla’s youth academy and then moved to Real Madrid in 2005. He flourished at Real Madrid and has been the captain there for some time. At Real Madrid he has helped the team win the league four times and the Champions League three times. He also captains the Spanish national team and has played for them at three World Cups and three European Championships.
- Javi Garcia’s Girlfriend – Elena Gomez
Elena Gomez is the stunning girlfriend of Real Betis’ defensive midfielder Javi Garcia. Gomez tends to stay out of the limelight but she works for the Portuguese version of Maxim while studying fashion and design and running her own online business selling her creations. Her boyfriend began his career with the formidable Real Madrid but mostly played with the reserve team. He then went on to play for Benfica in Portugal for three years before signing for Manchester City in 2012. From Manchester he moved to Zenit St. Petersburg where he played for three years before returning to Spain to play for Real Betis.

Yolanthe Cabau was born in Ibiza in 1985. She has built a career as a highly successful actress, model and television hostess. She has been voted as the Sexiest Dutch Woman three times (2006, 2007 and 2009). She is also the co-founder of Stop Dindermisbruik, a foundation that aims to put an end to child sexual abuse in developing countries. She married Wesley Sneijder in 2010 and they have had two children together. Sneijder has had an active career in which he has played for Ajax, Real Madrid, Internazionale Milan, Galatasaray, Nice and his current team Al-Gharafa. He has represented the Netherlands internationally on numerous occasions including at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
- Steven Gerrard’s Wife – Alex Curran
Alex Curran is an English model who was born in September 1982. In addition to modelling work she is also a fashion columnist for the Daily Mirror and of course the wife of former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard. She has often been described as one of the leading WAGs of the English national team and the Times even referred to her as an “uber-WAG”. Her husband has now retired from the pitch but he still works as a professional coach for Liverpool where he spent the majority of his career. During 17 years playing at Anfield Gerrard won two FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League, one UEFA Cup, one FA Community Shield and one Super Cup. After Liverpool Gerrard played for LA Galaxy for a couple of years before retiring in 2017 and picking up coaching.
- Mario Gotze’s Wife – Ann-Kathrin Brömmel
Ann-Kathrin Brömmel was born in Germany in 1989 and has a highly successful modelling career. She took part in Germany’s Next Top Model and has appear in publications such as GQ and FHM. Beyond her looks, she has also done work as a voice actress for films such as Ice Age Collision Course. She began dating Mario Gotze in 2012. Gotze has spent most of his career playing for Bayern Munich and Borussia a Dortmund and he also plays for the German national team.
- Leo Messi’s Wife – Antonella Roccuzzo
Antonella Roccuzzo has been with Leo Messi since at least 2008, however, the two have known each other since they were just 13 years old. Roccuzzo comes from the same city as Messi, Rosario, but she is of Italian descent. Roccuzzo originally trained as a dentist but she switched to social communication and in November 2016 she signed a modelling contract with the Argentine fashion label Ricky Sarkany. The pair married in June 2017 after having two sons together and they are currently expecting their third child. Messi is one of the most famous football players in the world and is widely regarded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players of all time. He has won numerous awards, including the Ballon d’Or five times. He has spent his entire career with Barcelona where he has won twenty-nine trophies including the La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey multiple times.
- Thomas Vermaelen’s Wife – Polly Parsons
Polly Parson is a well known English actress and television presenter. She was born in Bristol in 1984 and spent many years dating the EastEnders star Sid Own. They were engaged for three years, from 2009 to 2012 but in the end broke off the engagement and in the same year she started dating Thomas Vermaelen. They got married in June 2017 and have two sons together. Her husband is enjoying a highly successful career on pitch. He started at Ajax before spending a long time at Arsenal. In 2014 he was sold to Barcelona and after spending some time on loan with Roma he has now returned to Barcelona.
- David de Gea’s Girlfriend – Edurne
The popular Spanish singer Edurne García Almagro, better known as just Edurne, was born in Madrid in December 1985. She rose to fame after appearing on the popular talent show Operacion Triunfo in 2005 and to date her most successful song is “Despierta” (Wake Up”) which climbed to number five in the Spanish charts in 2006. Since then she has represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2010 she began dating Manchester United’s goalkeeper David de Gea. De Gea is often called the best goalkeeper in the world and some would argue he has the best-looking girlfriend in the world. He has enjoyed a fantastic career since joining Atletico Madrid’s academy at the age of 13. He joined the senior team in 2009 and helped them win the Europa League and Super Cup. He then moved to Manchester United in June 2011 for £18.9 million, which at the time was a British record for a goalkeeper. Since then he has continued to flourish at Old Trafford.
- Edin Džeko’s Wife – Amra Silajdžic
Bosnian actress and model Amra Silajdžic has been together with Edin Džeko for some time now. They married in 2014 and currently have two children. His wife, Silajdžic, won the Elite Model in Paris at the age of 16 and in 2016 she was a member of cast in CSI NY and also took part in a video clip for the singer Enrique Iglesias. Her husband, Džeko, has had an active career with some of the top teams in Europe. He first came to attention when playing for the German club Wolfsburg when he won the Bundesliga in the 2008 – 09 season and was the second-highest goal scorer in the league with 26 goals. He was then the top scorer in the next season with 22 goals. Džeko then went on to play for Manchester City and helped them to win the league. In August 2015 he signed for Roma where he has continued to impress up until this day.
- Kevin-Prince Boateng’s Wife – Melissa Satta
Melissa Satta is one of the more famous WAGs. She was born in America in 1986 but rose to fame on the popular Italian television show Striscia la notizia in which she played a showgirl. Since then she has appeared in Maxim magazine and was featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She currently lives and works in Italy and in the past has dated football players such as Christian Vieri and John Carew. However, in 2012 she began dating Kevin-Prince Boateng and they had a child together in 2014 before marrying in 2016. Boateng has played for a number of teams over the years including Hertha BSC, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Genoa, Milan, Schalke, Las Palmas and his current team Eintracht Frankfurt.
