Rodgers’ Sacking Leads to Betting on the Next Liverpool Manager
After Liverpool’s lacklustre draw with Everton this weekend it came as no surprise to many that manager Brendan Rodgers was sacked on Sunday evening.
Of course speculation immediately started as to who may replace Rodgers and the clear favourite is Jurgen Klopp. Bookies have given Klopp odds of 1/3 to take the position and he would arrive with a great reputation after leading Borussia Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and an appearance in the Champions League final.
Behind Klopp is Carlo Ancelotti who has odds of 9/4. Ancelotti departed from Real Madrid over the summer and he has previously managed Chelsea. Other contenders include Ajax box Frank de Boar at 12/1 and ex-Inter Milan manager Walter Mazzarri at 14/1. The club has a short international break now with no Premier League matches and it is likely that an appointment will be made in the next few days.
