The Most Likely Deals of the Football Transfer Window

After months of speculation the summer transfer window is finally open until 6pm on September 1st. Here are some of the most likely deals to take place over the coming weeks.

One of the most likely transfers is David De Gea’s move from Manchester United to Real Madrid. The goalkeeper is reportedly keen to make the move and United are thought to be planning for life without him.

Moving in the opposite direction it seems fairly certain that Toby Alderweireld will make the move from Atletico Madrid to Tottenham. While Southampton is also interested in the defender, Spurs thinks that they are likely to seal the £14 million deal.

Internally it seems as Fabian Delph is certain to move from Aston Villa to Manchester City. The midfielder has a release clause of just £8 million and City seems likely to activate it. Especially if the team fails to secure their main target, Kevin De Bruyne.

Less certain is the transfer of Hugo Lloris from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United. United are keen to have him and Lloris is probably very tempted. However, it is thought that Spurs will fight to keep him and may even offer him the captaincy in order to persuade him to stay.

A more likely prospect is the move of Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton to Manchester United. The midfielder’s transfer is reportedly very close to completion and United is hoping to complete the deal in the coming week. However, for now Schneiderlin is still in training with Southampton’s under-21 squad.

Finally Raheem Sterling looks fairly set to move from Liverpool to Manchester City. The winger looked unsettled for much of last season and City seems to be the only team interested in signing him so a deal is likely to happen at some point in the coming months.
