Playtech Launches Mobile Sports Betting App for Apple Watch
The Apple Watch has featured heavily in the news over the last few weeks and now gadget lovers are finally able to get their hands on one. Even better, Playtech has just released a sports betting app for the watch so gamblers can easily place bets on their favourite teams while on the move.
The app is part of ‘Coral Connect’, the contract which allows Coral’s customers to use one account and one wallet across all of Coral’s gambling products, both online and in Coral betting shops.
The app is the first of its kind for the Apple Watch and it allows Coral’s customers to receive alerts about offers and promotions from the bookmakers. It also gives customers the ability to browse live betting odds and those of upcoming sporting events as well as the placing of bets and even cashing out on bets.
The launch of the app came just after Playtech announced a trading update to the London Stock Exchange. Playtech’s total revenue has increased by 31% for the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period last year and it is also 7% higher than the revenues of the final quarter of last year. There were increases for casino (28%), service (27%), land-based operations (198%), spots (31%), and bingo (24%). However, like for like revenue on poker has dropped.
In other good news for Playtech investors and shareholders, the company’s average daily revenue for the first 25 days of the second quarter is already up by more than 25% on the second quarter of 2014.
