Euro 2016 Odds and Predictions: Sweden vs Russia

On Thursday evening Sweden will play Russia at the Friends Arena in the next round of Euro 2016 matches.
These teams have played each other a total of five times since 1970. Their last game was in 2008 when Russia won 2 – 0. Before that they played in 2002 and that game ended in a 1 -1 draw. In total each team has won two of the games.
Last month Sweden beat Estonia 2 – 0 and drew 1 – 1 with Austria. They were the team’s first games since January of this year when they were defeated 2 – 0 by Belgium. Russia had more success last month beating both Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein 4 – 0.
Despite this and the fact that Sweden failed to reach the World Cup, the bookies still favour Sweden for a win with odds of around 7/5. Russia has odds of around 2/1 at many bookies as does a draw.
William Hill Odds: 8/5 Sweden to Win, 2/1 for a Draw and 19/10 Russia to Win.
Ladbrokes Odds: 29/20 Sweden to Win, 2/1 for a Draw and 19/10 Russia to Win.
Bet365 odds: 7/5 Sweden to Win, 21/10 for a Draw and 21/10 Russia to Win.
