Slovakia will take on Spain at the Stadion Pod Dubnom in the next round of the Euro 2016 on Thursday evening.

The teams have played each other a total of four times since 1996 and Spain has won three of the games. They last met in 2005 when in November they played two games the first of which ended in a 5 – 1 victory for Spain and the second ended in a 1 – 1 draw.

Last month Slovakia beat Malta 1 – 0 and Ukraine 1 – 0. Before that their last game was in May against Russia which they lost 1 – 0 but in the same month they beat Montenegro 2 – 0. Spain beat Macedonia 5 – 1 last month but lost 1 – 0 to France.

Spain is the bookies favourite to win with odds of around 2/5. The best odds available on Slovakia are 6/1 and a draw has been set at around 3/1.
