Arthur Abraham Wins by Controversial Judges Decision

Arthur Abraham was the easy favourite to win his boxing match against Paul Smith with odds of 2/9 compared to Smith’s 10/3. However, many are saying that the judges’ scores were ridiculous and that the fight was much closer than they suggest.
Some commentators are saying that Smith outworked Abraham for long periods of the fight and came close to winning. However, the judges awarded scores of 117-111, 117-111, and 119-109 which Smith has described as “robbing him of a lifetime opportunity.”
Smith was edging ahead in the later rounds as Abraham grew tired. Towards the end of the fight many were predicting that Smith would win, but a draw was seen as a more realistic result. However, the judges thought otherwise and Smith won’t get the credit he deserves.
Smith has no more scheduled fights but there are plenty of big fights in the coming weeks. On Thursday Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam is 8/13 favourite to beat Curtis Stevens (5/4). Over the weekend Sam Soliman has odds of 2/5 to beat Jermain Taylor who is at 9/4. Next weekend Anthony Joshua is strong favourite with odds of 1/41 to beat Denis Bakhtov who has odds of 16/1.
