Jamie Vardy Tipped for England Call-Up
Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy has been tipped to become an England international player by his team-mate Liam Moore.
The statement came after Leicester’s incredible 5 – 3 defeat of Manchester United last Sunday. It was Vardy’s first match in the Premier League and afterwards he was crowned man of the match. He consistently managed to expose weaknesses in United’s defence, scored City’s fourth goal, help set up the first and third goal and earned the team two penalties.
Vardy, who just three years ago was playing for Fleetwood in the Football Conference, had his Premier League debut delayed due to a thigh injury. However, he looks set to have a major impact upon the team’s fortunes this season.
Already he is third favourite to be Leicester City’s top scorer this season with odds of 8/1 behind David Nugent and Leandro Illoa. Furthermore, he is considered the twentieth most likely player to be the League’s top scorer this season with odds of 50/1. This puts him on the same level as more seasoned players such as Darren Bent, David Nugent, Dwight Gayle and Carlton Cole.
As the season progresses Vardy looks set to make more headlines and if he continues in this vein then there is a real chance he could end up playing for England.
