Tim Wiese Approached by WWE as Potential Future World Champion

The former German goalkeeper has been approached by the WWE and offered the chance to become a professional WWE wrestler.

Wiese retired from football earlier this year and has since turned to bodybuilding as a new hobby; now he reportedly weighs 18st 1lb (115kg). It seems that there is a high chance that Wiese will accept the offer; in a statement he said that he is ‘not scared’ and that he will be discussing it with his agent over the next few weeks.

The idea would be for Wiese to spend around a year training in Florida before becoming a WWE wrestler.

As soon as the news was published bookies started taking bets on Wiese’s prospects as a WWE wrestler. Paddy Power is offering odds of 80/1 that he will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by the end of 2022, so while there is plenty of time for him to achieve this, it is clearly thought quite unlikely at this stage.

Wiese would be following in the footsteps of Port Vale goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson who retired from football last year in order to pursue a career as a professional wrestler.
